I was born and raised in Southern Ohio and I understand the value of hard work and common-sense solutions; I was a paperboy, Eagle Scout and attended the Ohio State University. I now reside in Columbus with my wife Karen and our two-year old daughter Sarah. I currently am serving my first term in Congress, where I am a member of the House Financial Services Committee.
Prior to running for Congress, I served in the Ohio Senate and before that worked in the private sector in the banking industry. I am a career soldier, and have served over 26 years in the Ohio Army National Guard, where I hold the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. I served the United States overseas during Operation Iraqi Freedom, where I led 400 soldiers and contractors and I am very proud that each and every one returned home safely to the United States.
Throughout my career, I have worked to lead the way supporting programs and initiatives to encourage job creation, promote economic development and help Ohio's families. In Congress, I have continued my focus on job growth and lowering government spending. From hosting a job fair to introducing legislation to create jobs, I have made it a priority to take action on the most pressing issues facing our nation today.
It is an honor to represent the people of Ohio’s 15th District and I will work every day to make you proud.
