STEVE STIVERS ANNOUCES HE IS RUNNING FOR RE-ELECTION IN OHIO'S 15th CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT
COLUMBUS- Congressman Steve Stivers (R-Columbus) today filed his petitions and announced he is running for re-election for Ohio's 15th Congressional District.
"It is a privilege and honor to serve the people of Ohio's 15th Congressional District in Congress," Stivers said. "I am humbled that I was given this opportunity and will continue to work hard every day to make my constituents proud. However, there is still much work to be done and I am running for re-election to continue my efforts on the serious issues facing our nation today."
In the coming Congress, Stivers plans to continue tackling the issues of jobs and growing the economy, passing a balanced budget amendment, supporting a line item veto, cutting spending and paying down our national debt.
Prior to serving in Congress, Stivers worked in the private sector, working with companies to improve operations, explore new opportunities, and create and retain jobs. He then served as a State Senator from January 2003 until December 2008.
Stivers has also served in the Ohio Army National Guard for more than 26 years, where holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and is proud to have served our nation oversees for nearly a year as a Battalion Commander in a combat zone during Operation Iraqi Freedom in Kuwait, Iraq, Qatar and Djibouti.
Stivers resides in Columbus with his wife, Karen, and daughter, Sarah.
